For assistance or information, please call Susie Duren, Caseworker with Lewis County Long Term Recovery Organization at 360-520-0632.

Adna Flood Relief is no longer in operation.  If you would like to help, or if you need help for damages received during the 2007 or 2009 floods or any future disaster, contact Lewis County Long Term Recovery Organization.  Adna Flood Relief will not be back up.  Please check our site for information on how to prepare.

If you haven't already been in contact with Lewis County Long Term Recovery Organization, now would be the time to do so.  Visit them at http://www.lewiscoltro.org/or call them at 360-740-8323.  If you flooded during the December, 2007 or January, 2009 flood events, you can look to them for help.  If you were fortunate enough to have received no damage but want to help, they will put you on their list of volunteers and find a job for you.

Severe weather and other disasters are not uncommon to this area.  If we learned anything from the December, 2007 flood, it should be that we need to be prepared for the next event NOW rather than later.  With a little forethought, we can prepare our families for minor inconveniences like power outages, to major disasters such as earthquake, widespread wind storm, flooding, terrorist acts, etc.  Working with Lewis County Department of Emergency Management, we are planning training sessions to teach citizens in our community what to do before, during and after an emergency.

RIVER WATCHERS PROGRAM: Lewis County Department of Emergency Management received grant monies to purchase a large number of NOAA weather radios.  Many of these radios were placed in homes in our area.  These people, along with those in other parts of the county, will help monitor the river, forecasts, and precipitation, then report their information to DEM.  This helps provide early warning for flood events, hopefully avoiding the huge losses of property and animals like we experienced in 2007.

Department of Homeland Security has a great emergency plan that you can print and complete:  http://www.ready.gov/america/_downloads/familyemergencyplan.pdf

Check http://ourfactsoflife.com/ for an excellent detailed publication about emergency preparedness.  If you pack your emergency kit in a clean 5 gallon bucket (the LDS cleaning buckets would be perfect for this!) you can use the bucket, lined with a  plastic bag, as an emergency toilet.

Make a plan, build a kit, get involved.  You'll find plenty of information at King County Office of Emergency Management:  http://www.govlink.org/3days3ways/

This is a great disaster preparedness handbook:  http://murray.senate.gov/preparedness/disasterprep-handbook.pdf
